Project Management
eVision Systems Inc., provides a formal project management process that
details a development plan and a set of deliverables. This allows us the ability
to easily track, control, measure, and report on the proposed solution and ensure
that it is delivered on time while meeing the strictest quality standards.
Knowledge is shared and available from the Project Manager during the management
of any project or assignment. The standards are templates that contain information
to support each phase of the project and can be adapted to meet the varied conditions
of each client. They highlight those activities that may also be needed. The project
manager is able to complete all project management control, documentation, metrics,
and reporting requirements by following a standard methodology.
Methodology
eVision Systems Inc., utilizes XP methodology and the iterative design process to
provide an ever evolving development environment that caters to our clients needs
in a timely manner.
Xtreme Programming(XP)is a disciplined approach to software development. Its success
relies heavily on customer feedback and satisfaction. The methodology consists of
complete utilization of managers, customers, and development team communication;
therefore providing our developers the ability to respond to constant change requests.
The iterative design technique enables development staff to ask and answer questions
while performing the design task. This method is based on a cyclic prototyping,
testing, analyzing, and refining work ?in progress.? Utilizing this method in a
successive manner, on release version rollouts, accelerates the evolution of the
project; providing our clients with a product that has been tested, analyzed, and
refined throughout the development lifecycle.
eVision Systems Inc. use of the Iterative Design Process
in conjunction with Extreme Programming (XP) Methodology enables us to evolve your
project at an accelerated pace in an effort to provide customer results on revolving
basis. The eVision Strategy is aligned with the following concepts in mind: Design,
Test, Analyze.
Why this works?
When using this process, development issues are discussed
and approved a regular basis in an ?ALL PARTIES INVOLVED? setting. i.e., weekly,
daily meetings (Analyze). The client provides a list of requirements; these are
met through development (Design), and then (Test) tested at several levels by development
(Regression testing) and client (Requirements Validation Testing).
The Design, Test, and Analyze concepts are performed in a methodical fashion, on
a consistent basis, until the desired results are met. This eliminates much of the
?red tape' involved in a standard development project rollout because issues are
handled on a daily or weekly basis and requirements are met according to a set timeline
specified and agreed upon by both the client and eVision.
- The Design Phase
The Design Phase is handled by eVision Systems Inc. ram below displays the
process used by our development team to analyze, develop, and test each task on
the requirements list. Because there are two types of rollouts: Server Side and
Store Side developers are assigned tasks based on their area of expertise. However,
from a client aspect only one rollout takes place.
- The Test Phase
Though a project team may go through many levels of testing there are two primary
types to be considered: Regression and Requirements Validation.
- Analyzing the Solution
The Analyze Phase is perhaps the most important phase in our strategy. Here
all involved parties are provided the opportunity discuss and approve requirements,
determine how and when those requirements will be met, list dependencies for development,
and any limitations, risks, and constraints. Utilizing a concrete Design and Development
Plan, we create a prototype of the next version to be rolled out.
